The two pictures I was trying to upload before. The Oahu celebration of inauguration and President giving shaka to the Punahou band playing.

Im still learning here and will try to post these pictures again. Sorry.

A Beautiful Day to remember

I do not know how so many of you have time to blog everyday. It has taken me a while to get used to all of this blog stuff.
But I just have to say what a beautiful day inauguration was. To honor Hawaii's 1st isle born president was just so amazing to the people on the islands here. I think they may have been more excited that he was from Hawaii than the first african american president.
Here on Maui they were having parties here and there but I wanted to stay at home with my big screen and not miss one single word. And that I did.
Since we are 5 hours behind the east coast it all took place at 7:00am Hawaii time. Sitting in my pajamas and coffee in hand I cried like a baby as the whole thing went down.
When Kenny got to work at 7am they had it on in the offices and he said everyone was gathered around. Poor guy had to listen to the rest on the radio. And it sucks here because we only get 2 stations on am to listen to.
I, on the other hand, was glued to the tv ALL day. When I say ALL day I mean it. I only took out a hour to shower and clean the kitchen.
Here are a few pictures taken from the Oahu newspaper, showing the celebrations taking place on Oahu where President Obama went to highschool. And a picture of President Obama giving shaka, the official sign from the islands.

A New Year a New Outlook

So ........... new to the world of blogging but being this is a new year I thought I would try something new and different.
It seems this year has started off with some sad news amongst some friends which has made me look at life a little different.
A new outlook to appreciate all my friends and family more. In the past I have taken it all for granted. As the years go by and we all get a little older I have come to realize they will not be around forever.
It is time to start the new year with love and appreciation.
